Celebrating Courage, Compassion & Persistence – 2024 in Review
Dear Family Justice Community,
When we think of our Family Justice partners, supporters, and clients, three qualities that come to mind are courage, compassion, and persistence. It takes incredible courage for a survivor of interpersonal violence to decide to seek help. It takes compassion to prioritize and provide client-centered services. It takes persistence to build a community focused on supporting those survivors’ safety and healing. At the two-year mark, we are witnessing the results of our community’s courage, compassion and persistence in the successes of the Solano Center. This work would not be possible without you.
In 2024, the Solano Center community continued to build and strengthen accessible options for help, healing and hope for more people facing domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse, sexual assault, and human trafficking in Solano County. With your support, we expanded our programming for children. We launched Solano SKY (Supporting Kids & Youth) child and youth behavioral health services for children ages 5 – 18 who are impacted by trauma, and enhanced our Safe 4 Us Supervised Visitation & Exchange Center to include an advocacy partnership and training for court personnel. We also added new services, including free legal consultations and representation in restraining order and family law cases, and welcomed many new partnerships.
In 2025, we will enhance our Navigation to Connection program by implementing the evidence-based Lethality Assessment Protocol for immediate safety planning, and prioritizing the needs of children exposed to violence. We will also strengthen our survivor leadership programs, where survivors can connect, uplift, and celebrate one another, and introduce self-sufficiency programs to help clients set and achieve long-term goals in education and employment. Our Learning Together Series will continue, offering Solano service providers and community members valuable insights and training. We will also collaborate with partners to begin exploring multi-disciplinary system responses.
Your partnership and support make it possible to provide these resources to those who need them in Solano County, regardless of age, income or immigration status. As we look ahead to 2025, we are grateful to be part of a community we know will continue to stand in solidarity with the most vulnerable among us.
Our Center will stay open through the holidays to serve our clients. Donations from supporters help us continue to help our Solano families heal from the many impacts of interpersonal violence. Gifts of any size will provide family essentials such as:
- Help with rent and utility bills
- Safe hotel stays
- Diapers and food boxes
- Grocery and gas cards
- Holiday gifts for children
If you or someone you know would like to donate, please visit our CCFJC Paypal page or send a check to CCFJC’s West Center, 256 24th Street, Richmond, CA 94804. Thank you for helping us help more families!
Wishing you warm and peaceful holidays,
The Solano Center Team
