Embracing Change: From Summer to Fall

by Reina Sandoval-Beverly, Regional Director of Client Services

As summer gives way to fall, we are reminded that change is both natural and necessary. The shifting seasons mirror much of the work we do with families—walking alongside them through moments of transition, helping them to find stability, resilience, and growth.

This fall, we are especially proud to highlight the expansion of our Enhanced Navigation program. Through Enhanced Navigation, there is a focus on children and families and being connected to resources, and a clearer path forward. Additionally victims and survivors that are at the highest risk will be assessed using the Lethality Assessment Protocol (LAP). A structured tool designed to assess the risk of lethal violence in domestic violence situations and connect victims/survivors to critical support and services. Lethality Assessment Program – MNADV

At the Family Justice Center, our teams throughout Contra Costa and Solano continue to embody the values that guide our work: compassion, collaboration, and care. The growth of Enhanced Navigation reflects our ongoing commitment to strengthening how we walk beside families in their moments of need.

The fall season also brings an important reminder: just as nature slows down to prepare for renewal, we too must pause and take care of ourselves. Supporting others begins with ensuring that we are grounded, healthy, and cared for.

Together, like the changing seasons, we continue to move forward—with resilience, hope, and expanded opportunities for the families and the community that we partner with.
