Finding Support When It Mattered Most

I reached out to the Family Justice Center during one of the hardest moments in my life. My family and I were dealing with ongoing safety concerns with an adult family member, and we felt overwhelmed, scared, and unsure where to turn.

From the very first phone call, I felt truly heard. The staff listened carefully, showed genuine compassion, and immediately wanted to help. During our conversation, they discovered that an important legal protection for our family was about to expire—a detail we had no idea about. This was vital to our safety, and I honestly don’t know what we would have done without that guidance.

Because of the Family Justice Center’s support, I was connected to an amazing attorney at a partner organization. Even though they were extremely busy, they handled the mountain of legal paperwork, worked with the courts, and ensured that the necessary protections were put in place on time. I could not have done it myself, especially given my learning disability and the emotional strain we were under.

Throughout the process, the Family Justice Center continued to provide resources, guidance, and reassurance. I never felt judged or alone. Instead, it felt like a true partnership, with everyone working together to keep my family safe.

I am incredibly grateful for the care and support we received. The Family Justice Center, along with their partners, made a huge difference in our lives. Because of this experience, I will continue to refer anyone in need of help to these amazing organizations.
